Freya: The Gold Thread

The last few weeks I’ve seen an uptick in my post on the Dedication Feast I threw when I officially Dedicated to Freya back in April. It was one of my first posts on the blog, and honestly probably not one of my better ones. I’ll be updating it in bits and pieces over the next few weeks.

This piece was one that I hadn’t posted. This is the actual contract that I made with Freya prior to my dedication. The version here is an abridged version; some of my oaths were private and remain so. It didn’t matter how many times I read this, out loud or to myself–I still cried when I read it at the Feast.

(I cry when I read it even now. I have never been a crier; I blame it on Freya’s influence. Damn that big sensitive heart, anyway.)

Ember Cooke has been a member of Hrafnar and Seidhjallr for more than a decade, where she trained to be a Seidhkona, Galdrakona, and Gythia. She founded the Vanic Conspiracy and made ordination vows to the Vanir and her congregation in the summer of 2013.
