Updated About Ember

At Freyja’s prompting, today I spent some time updating my profile and about page to include more specific details about my clergy work, training, and contributions.

It may take a while for the Gravatar profile changes to propagate, but the about page changes are visible now, for the curious.

About EmberVoices

Ember Cooke has been a member of Hrafnar and Seidhjallr for more than a decade, where she trained to be a Seidhkona, Galdrakona, and Gythia. She founded the Vanic Conspiracy and made ordination vows to the Vanir and her congregation in the summer of 2013. She has contributed to several publications on Heathen and Northern Pagan subjects and regularly presents rituals and workshops at festivals. Her personal practice is more diverse, as the Vanir have lead her into cross-training and service for the wider Pagan community. This has including medium and servitor training in American Umbanda, clergy training with the Fellowship of the Spiral Path, and jail ministry for local counties. She holds a BA with honors in Religious Studies from Santa Clara University. Ember has lived all her life in the south San Francisco Bay Area, and is intimately bound to the valley of her birth.

It was a bit short 😉 I want to know *how many* years you’ve taught at Pantheacon!

It depends on what you mean by “taught at PantheaCon” actually.

I’ve been helping run rituals at PantheaCon for longer than I’ve been in Seidhjallr, I think, but it’s very hard to track decade-old details when my old email address is dead. I was on staff for a significant overlap of time, as well. These days I get asked to help with about a half-dozen rituals every year, and I have to sort out which ones I can actually do, and which ones I have to let go.

I’ve only taught maybe 3 or 4 workshops *entirely* on my own – on Tarot, on Bindrunes, and there was a cute one for the kids on how to make a variety of hats out of paper bags. They’ve all been well-received, and I’d like to try them again sometime, but I’m usually too busy with the group work to set up the individual stuff.

It occurs to me, you may have been teasing me about having quantified the other items, but not this one.

If so, I apologize for missing the joke.
